Making a PSD
I`m using this image: click it for the bigger size
1) Open up your image. My Advice: Find a High Quality Image - this will be bigger and better to work with.
2) You may have to resize the image to a smaller size, make sure you can view most of the image when on no zoom.
3) Start by picking the Free-Hand Selection Tool Set the Smoothing to around 5-10.
4) Start tracing around your image by following the outter most of the person or things shape.
this is part of the image i am tracing

Click once for the line to appear.
5) Once you have traced around the whole image, double click. This should give you something like :
6) Go to Selections>Modify>Smooth. You may want to play around with the settings until you are satisfied with the preview. I usually stick around:
Smoothing Amount: 10
Corner Scale (pixels): 15
Anti Alias: check
Preserve Corners: check.
Then click OK
7) You should now have something like this :

8) Go to Selections>Invert or click CTRL+SHIFT+I.
9) Hit Delete.
10) The last thing you need to do is cut around the little areas inbetween the arms, legs, and possibly hair.
11) Now after you are done, save the image as a .psd file. (=
12) There's your PSD! If you need any help or are having trouble understanding this tutorial then contact us!
